Day 01 Arrive Islamabad    

Arrival Islamabad and transfer to Shalimar Hotel. In the afternoon you can explore the city on your own. In the evening you visit the famous Faisal mosque and enjoy views over the lit Islamabad from daman-e-koh. Night in the hotel.

 

Day 02 Islamabad – Chilas

All day trip (approx. 450 km) on the Karakorum highway (KKH) northward into the mountains. Our goal is the small place called Chilas on the Indus. Night in the hotel.

 

Day 03 Chilas – Tarshing

Still on the Indus we will continue on our path north. On our way we will have view of the Nanga Parbat, famously known as Killer Mountain. Shortly thereafter we will leave the Indus and drive by a spectacular ravine on adventurous runways over Astor into the small mountain village Tarshing (2900 m). Directly behind the village the highest steep wall of the earth rises up into the sky, the Rupal wall high over 4500 m, which rise to fame in 1970 when two brothers Günther and Reinhold Messner reached the summit via a direct route on the huge, difficult Rupal Face. First night in the tent.

 

Day 04 Tarshing – Herrligkoffer BC

Start of the Trek. From Tarshing we walk to the Herrligkoffer Basecamp (approx. 3500 m). The migration leads directly below the enormous Rupal flank and offers fantastic views of the Nanga Parbat. night in the tent. (Trek time approx. 5h).

 

Day 05 Herrligkoffer BC – Shaigiri BC

The rather pleasant stage leads across idyllic Pastures after Shaigiri (3660 m). You have a wonderful view of steep slopes of the Nanga Parbat, the south wall and the neighboring Rupal peak (5584 m). Night in the tent. (Trek time approx. 5h).

 

Day 06 Shaigiri BC(Rest day)

This day is allocated for Acclimatization in the Shaigiri camp. We can spend the day walking on the pastures or go take a trip towards Rupal peak. Night in the tent.

 

Day 07 Shaigiri BC – Mazeno BC

The trek will now take us to Mazeno Basecamp (4200 m). From here we will have a magnificent view of the Toshain peak and the impressive rugged summits and glacier of this group of mountains is offered. Night in the tent. (Trek time approx. 5h).

 

Day 08 Mazeno BC- Mazeno High camp

The trek continues on steep slopes of Mazeno pass. We will break our camp on the slope of mezano pass (approx. 4700 m) directly on the debris covered Mazeno glacier. Night in the tent. (Trek time approx. 4-5h).

 

Day 09 Mazeno High Camp – Upper Loiba (Mazeno Pass crossing)  

The 5377 m crossing of the high Mazeno pass is the highest point of the entire Tour. We will start early. From our camp on Mazeno glacier we can reach to the pass in 4-5h but new new fallen snow it can take much longer. The efforts of climbing the pass will be compensated by view from the top and you will feel refreshed. The decent of the day can be tricky, with unfavorable conditions rope will be used to climb down. The condition at the top makes the climb down even more adventurous. Once down to the foot of the pass few more kilometer will lead to our camp for the night at Upper Loiba.(4200 m) (trek time approx. 8-11h).

 

Day 10 Upper Loiba – Lower Loiba

Trek down from upper Loiba to Lower Loiba which is also called as Loiba Meadows. Today we have easy walk through the lush green meadows and trees. Overnight camp is surrounded by shepherds huts(3350 m). night in the tent. (Trek time approx. 6h).

 

Day 11 Lower Loiba – Ser

Steadily we continue the drive down the mountain until valley is reached(Upper Jale, 2750m). From here it goes again upwards to Ser(2900 m), where one of the Reinhold Messer initiated school stands. Night in the tent. (Trek time approx. 4h).

 

Day 12 Ser – Kutgali

Today the trek is very easy through pine and birch trees, We will walk up and over lower Kachal(approx. 3400 m)  until Kutgali(3900 m), where at foot of steep rock tower we will camp for two nights. We have stunning views of Nanga Parbat all the way. Night in the tent. (Trek time approx. 6h).

 

Day 13 Nangaparbat base camp excursion diamer side

Today we will have a day trip to base camp of Nanga Parbat on Diamer side we will walk on beautiful green meadow of flowers and in direct view of the Kinshofer route up to the summit of the Nanga parbat. Kinshofer route was open by german expedition in 1962 it is the consider to be easiest of all route toward the summit. We will return to our camp in the evening. Night like the day before. (Trek time approx. 4h).

 

Day 14 Kutgali – karu sagar

In the morning you first walk back down the valley. When we reach the Halal bridge people on short trip will part way from us. We will continue on our orbit around Nanga parbat which will lead us to steep slopes and grassy lands up to Kut-gali pass(4950 m), after crossing Kut-gali pass we will descend to karu Sagar (approx 3860 m). Night in the tents. (Trek time 10h).

 

 

Day 15 Karu sagar – Ghutum Sagar

Today our object is to reach Ghutum Sagar(4150 m) starting point for our next day drive to the Jiliper pass or optional summit of the Jiliper peak. Once we reach our camp for the night we will go to sleep early to start our next day early and make it to the summit. (Trek time approx. 8h).

 

Day 16 Ghutum sagar – Beyal camp (Jiliper pass crossing plus optional Jiliper peak climb)

Again we have long and exciting day for those opted to climb Jiliper peak. They will rise early and attack on the summit of Jiliper peak (5206 m) once on the summit the climber can enjoy Raikot face of the Nangaparbat, view of the Diamer valley and surrounding mountains. Jiliper peak summit also offers spectacular view of the Nanga Parbat which can leave wuite an impression on the viewer.

Rest of us who opt to remain in our camp can enjoy the morning in the Himalayan wilderness. Once our team of climber is down from the peak we will continue towards Jiliper pass and move to next camp Beyal (3500 m) .Night in the tent. (Trek time 5h-7h plus optional summit tour) 

 

Day 17 Beyal Camp – Fairy Meadows

From Camp Beyal, there are two possibilities: a short ascent up to 4000 m to the historic place, base camp of the old German expedition of 1932 and 1953 right below the Diamer face. There remain the graves of the disaster stuck expeditions of the 1930’s. After the trip we will descend to camp Beyal and hike to the world famous Fairy Meadows, a relaxing location amidst lush green pine forests with spectacular view of the Nanga Parbat. What a way to cool off after the hard walks we encountered the days before. Night in tents or wooden huts. (Trek time approx 2h).

 

Day 18 Fairy Meadows (Rest day)

The whole day is in the vicinity of the Fairy Meadows to explore wilderness. Who knows you may encounter some fairies of your own. If you still have hunger for hiker you can dwell from fairy meadows to Raikot glacier and surrounding peaks. Sleeping arrangment same as pervious night.

 

Day 19 Fairy Meadows - Chilas

In the morning short descent after Tato. From there we will ride a short but amasing jeep trek which down into the Indus valley and meet KKH at Rakhiot bridge, where your bus awaites and take you to nearest town known as Chilas. In the evening arrival in Chilas. NIGHT in the hotel.

 

Day 20 Chilas – Islamabad

Last part of the long trip along the KKH back after Islamabad. Over Besham and Abottabad you reach the capital of Pakistan after all day trip in the evening. NIGHT in the hotel.

 

Day 21 Islamabad Sightseeing

Day off for inspections and purchases in the capital Islamabad or the neighbouring Rawalpindi. In the evening common parting meal. Late at the night transfer to the airport.

 

Day 22 Departure

Transfer to airport for onward destination. Bon voyage

Kitchen equipment, crockery, fuel and related camping gear.
